Canopy by Hilton Osaka Umeda

We spent 2 nights at the canopy by Hilton and we were wonderfully surprised. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The beds are so comfy. Loved the rain shower. I highly recommend this hotel.

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel had stores in the hotel. Buffet was very nice.

On the fringe of Umeda. Getting to the Midosuji or Hankyu lines from this hotel is a chore. It’s connected to all of the surrounding malls via covered walkways, but walkway access is on the second floor, which the hotel elevator doesn’t service, which means you have to come down to 1 then go up to 2 to connect. The elevators up to the lobby are a little difficult to find. The lobby itself is on the 11th floor of the property which means you need to be patient if you’re heading back to your room. You must take at least 2 elevators to go to your room.

The room was amazing and service was very good.

The location was not ideal to access public transportation. The maze of buildings and lack of signage made it difficult to find our way to/from the subway. Also not sure why but the lobby temperature was extremely warm. Not sure if they were having AC issues but it was very noticeable when you got off the elevator and turned the corner to the lobby.

Beautiful property, extremely comfortable and well-curated rooms. Beautiful views of the city and surrounding areas. Staff was super helpful in recommending some local food courts as well as arranging our luggage transfer.

Location is good and up and coming. A subway ride away from the south part of Osaka known for shopping, dining, etc.

Rooms and location

Clean, comfortable, new hotel, accessible and friendly stuff.

The location is ok though still not very convenient. New hotel means that everything works and the room was clean.

This isn’t a good hotel if you’re traveling with family. The room layout is terrible. The bathroom isn’t isolated from the main living area which is not great for family travel. The taxi drop off is bad. There is no designated drive way so we had to walk across planter boxes to get to the side walk. The location really isn’t great. Not too close to the train station. Though there is a lot of shopping near umeda

Nothing really

Although the place is difficult to find because it’s inside a mall and GPS struggles to navigate indoors, the location is ultimately good. The gardens and park in the area are amazing. There are also great eateries. It’s also close to stores, for people who enjoy shopping. Also close to station and many subway entrances. The design of the hotel is modern and beautiful. I am not convinced that you get value for money though.

The real shortcoming is the staff. They seem under trained, and most of the male staff is really just rude. Everyone looks like they have somewhere better to be, which may very well be true but is quite unfair on the guests. The staff is also just generally unhelpful. Breakfast was also underwhelming. I stayed for four nights and went to breakfast only twice. It wasn’t worth waking up for. By contrast however the restaurant staff is amazing!

The view from our room on the first day, it was looking towards a construction site. Another room with a better view was allocated for the second day of our stay upon request.

I chose this hotel for my birthday and the staffs gave me a warm greetings as a set foot at the hotel they made my day very special. They gave me a birthday fruit platter plus a birthday card greetings in a very cute octopus towel design. I could not express how grateful I am for the whole team. I would highly recommend this hotel. Also during ny breakfast the next day, they also gave me another warm birthday greetings and all staff are very graceful and cheerful. A must stay hotel in Osaka.
